Restore proper tonearm support on your vintage Pioneer turntable with this high-quality replacement Tonearm Rest Latch for the Pioneer PL-518. This latch was modeled from an original Pioneer part and carefully adjusted to work correctly with the PL-518 stock arm rest. It also fits several other compatible Pioneer models, including PL-112D, PL-115, PL-117D, PL-500, PL-510, PL-514, and PL-516. The original Pioneer part numbers for these rests are PXA-104 and PXA-421. Once installed, the latch securely wraps around the tonearm to keep it locked in place when not in use—protecting your cartridge, stylus, and bearings from accidental movement or damage. Installation Notes Installation uses your existing tonearm rest and mounting pin. Your rest must still be intact (except for the broken/missing latch). The retaining pin can typically be pushed out from the front or back using a small awl, punch, or similar tool, then pulled free with needle-nose pliers. After inserting the new latch, simply reinstall the pin to complete the repair. This is an ideal replacement for cracked, broken, or missing latches and helps bring your classic Pioneer turntable back to proper working condition.
